Mazdutide
Intro paragraph
Mazdutide is a dual glucagon and GLP-1 receptor agonist: one molecule that acts on two metabolic pathways at once. It is the first compound in that class to reach market approval anywhere in the world, and it has become one of the most searched peptides in weight-management research. This category covers the mazdutide presentations we stock, what the published data shows, and what to check before you buy.
What is mazdutide?
Mazdutide (development code IBI362) is a once-weekly synthetic peptide developed by Innovent Biologics. It combines GLP-1 receptor agonism, the mechanism behind the familiar GLP-1 class, with glucagon receptor agonism, which increases energy expenditure and fat oxidation. The two effects are complementary: GLP-1 activity reduces appetite and slows gastric emptying, while glucagon activity raises calorie burn.
The dual mechanism is why mazdutide is studied separately from single-target GLP-1 agonists, and why its published weight-loss figures are compared against that class rather than against older compounds.
Approval status
This matters more for mazdutide than for most peptides, because the picture is genuinely split:
| Market | Status |
|---|---|
| China (NMPA) | Approved. Chronic weight management approval announced June 2025, marketed as Xinermei. Type 2 diabetes approval followed in September 2025. |
| United States (FDA) | Not approved. |
| European Union (EMA) | Not approved. |
| Rest of world | Unapproved; import rules vary by country. |
A supplementary application for the 9 mg dose was accepted for review by the NMPA. Where mazdutide is approved, it is a prescription medicine dispensed to patients with a diagnosis, not an over-the-counter product.
What the trials showed
The phase 3 GLORY programme is the main body of evidence. In the 9 mg obesity study (GLORY-2), at week 60:
- Mean weight reduction reached up to 20.1%
- 84.3% of participants lost at least 5% of body weight, against 33.1% on placebo
- 44.0% lost at least 20% of body weight, against 2.6% on placebo
Once-weekly dosing was used throughout, and gastrointestinal effects were the most commonly reported adverse events, consistent with the GLP-1 class generally. These are clinical trial results in a monitored patient population, not a prediction of what any individual will experience.
What we supply
The mazdutide we list is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials. This is a research-grade presentation, not the approved pharmaceutical pen sold under the Xinermei brand, and it carries no regulatory approval in any market.
Every vial is shipped with batch documentation, and a certificate of analysis stating identity and purity is available on request. Orders ship with temperature control, because a lyophilized peptide that has been exposed to heat or repeated temperature cycling is not the product you paid for.
Storage and handling
Store sealed vials dry at -20 °C for long-term storage, or at 2 to 8 °C for short periods. Protect from light and moisture and avoid repeated temperature cycling. Once reconstituted for a laboratory protocol, follow that protocol's requirements and keep the solution refrigerated. Keep out of the reach of children.
Frequently asked questions
Is mazdutide the same as semaglutide or tirzepatide? No. Semaglutide targets GLP-1 only. Tirzepatide targets GIP and GLP-1. Mazdutide targets glucagon and GLP-1. All three are different molecules with different receptor profiles and different trial results, and they should not be compared milligram for milligram.
Is mazdutide approved in the US or Europe? No. It is approved in China only. Any listing describing it as FDA-approved or EMA-approved is inaccurate.
What is the difference between the approved product and the vials sold here? The approved product is a finished, dosed pen dispensed on prescription. The vials here are lyophilized research material without regulatory approval, supplied for laboratory work only.
Do you provide a certificate of analysis? Yes, on request, per batch. The certificate states identity and purity for the batch shipped.
How is it shipped? With temperature control and tracking. Cold-chain handling matters for peptide integrity, and we treat it as part of the product rather than as an optional extra.
Important information
Mazdutide as supplied here is a research chemical for laboratory use only. It is not a medicine, it is not approved for human or veterinary use in the United States, the European Union or most other markets, and it is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, cure or prevention of any disease. No dosing or administration information is supplied, and none should be inferred from the trial data summarised on this page. Not for injection, ingestion or any form of human consumption. Buyers are responsible for complying with the law in their own jurisdiction. Handle with standard laboratory precautions and dispose of according to local regulations.
